Welcome to Our Website

   Arcadia Center For The Needy is a non-profit 501(c)3 agency incorporated in the state of Florida and affiliated with the churches of DeSoto County since 1991.

   In keeping with our mission, “Serving The Needy in The Spirit of Christ” this agency distributes food, clothing and other items to the most needy residents of our community at no cost, or obligation. We average more than 50,000 visits per year from our neighbors, and distribute more than $350,000 worth of assistance. Our normal hours are 6am to 10am Monday thru Friday. Temporary COVID hours, now in affect, are 4:30am to 9:00am, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

   Our staff and board of directors are volunteers. We warmly welcome you to join our ministry by donating food, your time, your money, your prayers. 

   We are deeply grateful to the local churches, businesses, mobile home parks, RV resorts, organizations, and individuals like you who make this ministry possible by providing us with funds, food, clothing and other items. 

   Your generosity also now enables us to assist three other 501(c)3 agencies; The Salvation Army, and DeSoto Cares, both of which currently operate out of units in our “James Beckett Community Services Center” building.
