DeSoto County is the poorest county in the state of Florida. It has a annual median household income of $35,438; this is $20,000 lower than the average annual median household income for the entire state.

Currently there is no overnight shelter for people living on the street. Everyday we feed, and clothe these individuals and families. Many live under vacant houses, in cars, tents along the Peace River, anywhere they can find shelter for the night.
